The Saab R6 Supreme AIS/VDS system is the new generation of shipborne Class-A Transponder system, representing the pinnacle of innovation in the field of AIS and VDES technology.

The R6 Supreme AIS/VDES is type approved for AIS and prepared for future VDES functionality with its new state-of-the-art Software Defined Radio providing an outstanding AIS sensitivity of – 118 dBm. Designed and tested to IEC 61933-2 and future ITU-R M.2092-1 as applicable, the R6 Supreme AIS/VDES is the most versatile Class-A AIS system on the market.

Ease of Use

The R6 Supreme is intuitive and easy to operate and designed to be a tool for the daily work. It is equipped with an all-new Control and Display Unit (CDU), featuring a speedy modern graphical user interface (GUI) in a brilliant, sunlight readable 7-inch touch display with accurate colours at any viewing angle. The display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels in more than 16M colours. The CDU has interface for central bridge equipment dimming. All information is easy to access through a GUI that reminds of a modern smartphone.

Supreme Sensitivity

The R6 Supreme is equipped with a state-of-the-art Software Defined Radio, providing class-leading sensitivity exceeding international standards substantially improving signal reception and range.

Power of Dual-Use

The R6 Supreme can be integrated with a SAAB type approved Navigation GNSS receiver, and share the Control and Display Unit (CDU) to minimize the number of screens on the bridge and lower the cost for equipment and installation.

In a truly innovative design, Saab has once again created a class-leading AIS unit that goes well beyond any system previously on the market. The R6 Supreme meets the Class-A AIS radio requirements with ease, and also implements advanced waveforms and communication protocols as defined by the VHF Digital Exchange System standards (VDES).

The R6 Radio is capable of handling 64 parallel receive or transmit processes allowing for reception and operation of AIS, ASM, VDE-Terrestrial, VDE-Satellite, AMRD, DSC and Secure AIS over all channels, in parallel regardless of bandwidth or if they are on the lower or upper band.

The R6 Supreme incorporates also the new Bridge Alarm Management (BAM) standard as well as dual LAN interfaces (IEC 61162-450) for efficient network integration into bridge systems.

Easy Installation

The R6 Supreme AIS/VDES system can easily be integrated with other on-board systems such ECDIS, radar or other display solutions using traditional NMEA serial communication or network interface. Dual network interfaces in both the transponder and CDU makes it simple to install on redundant bridge networks.

The R6 Supreme offers same VHF and GPS antenna interfaces as with the majority of other AIS equipment, which simplifies re-use of cabling when upgrading.

Northrop Grumman’s SeaFIND™ (Sea Fiber Optic Inertial Navigation with Data Distribution) is a next generation maritime inertial navigation system succeeding the company’s MK-39 Mod 3 and 4 series Inertial Navigation System product line.

SeaFIND delivers proven navigation capabilities in a compact and affordable package, making it ideal for applications where low cost as well as reduced size, weight and power requirements are critical. It is the first maritime inertial navigation system to move from the existing ring laser technology to Northrop Grumman’s new enhanced fiber optic gyro technology (eFOG™). The system has embedded navigation data distribution capabilities, leveraging Northrop Grumman’s proprietary algorithms for low data latency and allowing for the system to interface with a multitude of users that require accurate position and timing.

The system is designed using a modular system architecture and is comprised of an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a separate electronics unit (EU) connected via a single cable. Its smaller coil size and denser IMU package allows for flexible installation in tight places.

CURRENT’s diverse line of multi-sensor camera systems are installed and used in a variety of marine based industries, aiding in operations such as:

Short-Wave InfraRed (SWIR): Short-Wave InfraRed can be added to thermal and day to improve visibility in haze, mist, rain, fog and other challenging atmospheric conditions.

It is simple to install and use on any vessel, whether a new build or retrofit. VisionMaster Radar is fully compliant and offers enhanced functionality that exceeds IMO and IEC standards. Sperry Marine radar sensors are the ideal solution for all your maritime applications. Based on well-proven magnetron technology, they deliver precise, highly reliable performance. Antennas and Turning Units

Whether you are sailing on your local coast or cruising in the Polar Regions, SAILOR offers you the right GMDSS consoles required for your ship. With a wide range of flexible console systems we are able to deliver the optimal Global Maritime Distress Safety System for any sea area in the world.

SAILOR GMDSS Solutions

SAILOR products have become almost synonymous with GMDSS. Thus, more than a third of all commercial vessels covered by the international conventions have already chosen the high quality products and service that the SAILOR® brand provides.

SAILOR GMDSS products and consoles not only fulfill the IMO requirements, they are also a sound investment in the future. The SAILOR GMDSS consoles provide a large number of attractive conveniences and safety facilities – either as complete solutions or as stand-alone products.

As a standard the SAILOR 6000 Consoles are delivered with light, dimming control, connection boards and SAILOR Moxa Switches for ThraneLINK. The consoles are fitted with removable front plates, which greatly facilitate service and maintenance procedures, and the modular structure of the whole system means that it easily may be extended and altered.

The high quality and flexible SAILOR 6000 GMDSS Consoles are also available in versions which include the Thrane VoIP Handset for SAILOR FleetBroadband, making the console a complete communication system.

About ThraneLInK

ThraneLINK is a sophisticated communication protocol that connects the SAILOR products in a network, offering important new opportunities to vessels. It provides facility for remote diagnostics and enables access to all the SAILOR products from a single point for service.

This results in optimized maintenance and lower cost of ownership because less time is needed for troubleshooting and service. Installation is made easier as ThraneLINK automatically identifies new products in the system. The uniform protocol is an open standard which provides a future proof solution for all vessels.

Most Popular SAILOR GMDSS Console Solutions

Requirements vary from vessel to vessel. Therefore the SAILOR GMDSS solutions are available in a configuration to match the actual communications and safety needs, regardless of the sea area you are operating in.

SAILOR for Sea Area 1

The SAILOR VHF DSC Programme fulfils the requirements for Sea Area 1. The SAILOR VHF DSC Programme offers SAILOR 6222 VHF DSC (Class A) and SAILOR 6215/6216 DSC (Class D). The SAILOR product family offers a complete range of safety products, should the local regulations require further installations.

SAILOR for Sea Area 2

The SAILOR 6222 VHF DSC and the SAILOR 6300 MF/HF Control Unit can be installed together in this one section console with light and connection boards. This system satisfies all requirements for Sea Area A2.

SAILOR for Sea Area 3

The SAILOR Programme offers several solutions for Sea Area A3. These can be combined in different console solutions that meet the specific need. All these can be installed in consoles with light and connection boards.

A3 TLX/C: The three section solution with radiotelex and one Inmarsat-C. This solution will typically have one SAILOR 6222 VHF DSC, one SAILOR 6006 Message Terminal with keyboard and printer SAILOR H1252B for the SAILOR 6110 mini-C GMDSS, and one SAILOR 6006 Message Terminal with keyboard and printer SAILOR H1252B radiotelex, and the SAILOR 6301 MF/HF Control Unit. The MF/HF can be supplied as 150W, 250W or 500W.

A3 C/C: The three section solution with two SAILOR 6110 mini-C GMDSS. This requires two SAILOR 6006 Message Terminals with keyboard and two SAILOR H1252B printers. The console also includes the SAILOR 6222 VHF DSC and the SAILOR 6301 MF/HF Control Unit. The MF/HF can be supplied as 150W, 250W or 500W.

SAILOR for Sea Area 4

The SAILOR Programme offers solutions and combinations for Sea Area A4. The solution is the four section console with three SAILOR 6006 Message Terminals. One for SAILOR 6110 mini-C GMDSS (for covering Sea Area 3), and two for the MF/HF radiotelex. The two MF/HF stations can be supplied as 150W, 250W or 500W.

Additional GMDSS equipment

In addition to the above mentioned consoles a range of SAILOR portable GMDSS VHF and Beacons are available to complete the GMDSS requirements.

Instead of having dedicated single band systems for multiple services, you can have one Sea Tel 1500 that can dynamically switch between services while occupying the same footprint as a single band system. Or install two systems to enable services on the next generation NGSO satellite constellations.

Highly Reliable End-to-end VSAT Solution

When you are at sea, you want high reliability from all forms of communication. When in the footprint of the newer Ka band satellites, you want to take advantage of high data rates available. In some cases, inclement weather may prohibit Ka band operations. With the Sea Tel 1500 the ability to fallback to Ku band allows you to maintain services where other antenna systems would have to wait it out.

The system is designed to operate in GEO/MEO/LEO modes. This is enabled with Cobham Satcom’s proven IMA software platform. With the use of the multi-band arbitrator, two Sea Tel 1500’s are capable of seamless handoffs between the MEO or LEO satellites.

As most of the Ku band Geo satellites operate in a linear polarity the system has linear Ku band feed capable of both cross and co-pol operation. Ka Band is available as a software selectable circular polarization. The wideband feed allows for full commercial band Ka operation. Giving users the flexibility to choose either regional Ka band services or a MEO/LEO service.

DM100 Light Voyage Data Recorder G2

Danelec’s newest generation of light VDRs offers the recording capabilities of a type-approved full VDR system without the need for a fixed/float-free capsule. This compact and lightweight solution is ideal for vessels not required to implement a full VDR by regulations, but seeking responsible documentation of voyage data and improved ship management.

The DM100 L-VDR G2 is a non-mandatory system with added benefits for remote ship-to-shore management.

SoftWare Advanced Protection (SWAP)

Servicing and repairing shipboard electronics can be time consuming and expensive. There are the complicated logistics of scheduling a service call and finding a properly trained technician – sometimes from a remote port. Then there is the question of whether the technicians have the correct spare parts on hand and can complete the repairs in time to meet the ship’s sailing schedule.

Now there is a way to save time and money, while eliminating in-port delays, thanks to the new SWAP solution from Danelec. With SWAP technologyTM, all system software and configuration, as well as programming data, is automatically saved on a hot-swappable memory card that can easily be removed from the old unit and inserted into the new one. Relocating the repair from ship to shore saves hours of time in re-installing software and re-programming the unit.

Playback Software

VDR Explorer playback software runs on any PC and can provide real-time monitoring and replay of recorded data. It can be presented in a wide variety of both graphical and numerical ways, and is extremely easy and user-friendly to customize and operate. VDR Explorer can be synced with the Danelec IP Video Interface (IPVI) to review time-stamped CCTV footage alongside recorded VDR data.
